When the CVD6 single deckers were introduced after the war, they replaced the entire fleet of existing single deckers. Thus, to those growing up in the 1950s, they became the face of Coventry Corporation's single decker fleet. The entire fleet was governed to 45 mph, so the coach fitted buses may have seemed rather slow on long distance runs.
