Bus Inspectors

So far, we have not compiled an information specifically on CCT inspectors.  However, all the inspectors would have been promoted from the position of driver.  Some of the drivers listed in the Bus Drivers section became inspectors.  There were two roles undertaken by inspectors.  Traffic inspectors were based in the city and responded to high demand at the city stops and, presumably, to reports from bus crews of high demand at stops on the city-bound routes.  They would have been able to telephone Harnall Lane and Sandy Lane to request Service Extra buses.  Travelling inspectors would plan a route by selecting various intersecting services and travel around checking the performance of the bus crews.  To the travelling public, they checked that all passengers had a valid ticket.  It is hoped that this page will be compiled as new information comes to light.
