In 1967, work commenced on improving the layout of Pool Meadow Bus Station, including providing a replacement for the offices in Hill Top. On December 8th 1968 the new control centre opened, providing accommodation for the inspectors, a central radio control, despatch, wages, a canteen and a lecture theatre.
